Management
Until now, the work of the Scottish Islands Network has been overseen by a voluntary group of representatives from Argyll & Bute Council, Highland Council, North Ayrshire Council, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Mull & Iona Chamber of Commerce and Habitat Scotland.
One of the Network's key aims is to involve all sectors of island communities in its work. In order to achieve this objective, we recently invited nominations from or for interested parties who wanted to join the new Scottish Islands Network Management Committee - which will be responsible for the adoption of a new Constitution for the Network, its formalisation and future development plan.
Nine excellent nominations were received for the new Management Committee and the Network's founding Steering Group agreed that all nine should be invited to join the committee, along with one representative from each of the founding partners in the Network – creating a committee of 15 members.
