European Small Islands Network
The European Small Islands Network (ESIN) was established at a conference held in May 2001, organised by the National Association for the Swedish Archipelago and held in the Stockholm archipelago. Representatives from small islands in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France, Ireland and Scotland attended the event.
The conference decided unanimously to create a network for the Small European Islands to address the specific issues of insularity and ESIN aims to promote the sustainable social, cultural and economic development of Europe's small islands.
